Project: Old Sacramento

Responsibilities
In the mid 1800’s, the street level of Historic Old Town Sacramento was raised to the level of many of the building’s second stories, in to avoid the damage the previous floods had caused. It solved the flood problems but made it difficult to provide accessibility in today’s times. ACS evaluated the public areas of parking, pedestrian walks, and the steep K-Street tunnel connection from Downtown Sacramento, and developed the concepts for the accessible solutions that you see today.
